Today, among the limited number of world leading companies in the industry of grinding stone, cutting disks and diamond tools, SAID encloses in its name the fundamental objective of its business action: Special Applications of Industrial Diamond. A field of limited but very vast activity, which has been to develop and diversify its proposal so as to respond with greater efficiency to the new tendencies of the market. Since its foundation, which took place in 1975 thanks to Giannino Bonato, SAID has managed to expand its operational plan from grindstones for mechanical and glass industries, to cutting disks for construction and tools for the smoothing and polishing of stone materials. The start up of the production of disks dates back to 1982, but the real strategic change took place at beginning of the '90s, when the competition of the products from the Far East caused drastic choices to be taken in terms of new technology, automation, rationalization of the production line and of the internal organization, and therefore optimization of the quality. A winning challenge, which brought SAID to represent the most important European reality able to compete with the aggressive eastern market in the field of continuous rim disks.
For about three years now SAID research has turned much of its attention to the development of diamond tools for the polishing of marble, granite, and porcelain stoneware. Innovative solutions, highly competitive for performance and durability, which have allowed the evolution of the synergies between the company and the qualified consumers.
Since 2001, SAID has been developing new technologies in the mechanical tooling industries. The latest achievements boast not only greater cutting capacities, but also reduced power loss to the machines and less wheel consumption during the grinding operations.
