Throughout our over 80-year history, since our foundation in 1921, we have operated at Shinano-machi in Nagano under the belief, “Contribute to the world through unique technologies and seek to be a good company for the environment and society.†Currently, our core business consists of the production, development, and distribution of silicon carbide and related products. In addition, we have played a role in the inorganic chemicals realm of Shin-Etsu Chemical Group since 1965 when we joined the group of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.
Silicon carbide is a material of great interest with high hardness, excellent heat resistance, and durability. We seek to create applications of these features by further promoting research into silicon carbide and developing more sophisticated unique technologies. Our goal is to disseminate leading products to the world from here in Shinano-machi.
