Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton LVMH’s eLuxury website, a destination for high-end designer closeout apparel, shoes and accessories, has shut down the retails side of the website. The website will be turned into an editorial destination for information on the luxury market.
eLuxury ceased retail operations on June 26. The company announced that it is "now moving to the next step of its evolution, a process which will reposition it as a premier source of editorial content, information and inspiration for luxury customers around the world."
eLuxury was a pioneer in luxury e-commerce, serving as a platform for some of the world's leading high-end brands. eLuxury, which was launched in June 2000, carried brands such as Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Marc Jacobs and Versace.
Until this year the website ranked on the Internet Retailer's Top 500 list.
