Research on agglomerating Φ37 mm PDC by heating directly

Abstract Experiments for agglomerating Φ37 mm PDC with and without anchoring agent are done by improved heating directly on cubic press. We have analyzed the phenomenons, and found that the thicker molybdenum cup which is also heating unit not only improved shielding effectiveness, also improved the radial temperature is synthesizing chamber and the equality of PDC . The results of samples analyzed by SEM indicate that the quality of agglomerating PDC without anchoring agent is worse than that of with anchoring agent. So anchoring agent is necessary for producing jumbo size PDC.
