Russia International Professional Metal Processing Equipment and Appliance Exhibition (METALLOOBRABOTKA) started to be held in 1984 with 12 sessions successfully till now. It, the most professional and largest-scale machine tools exhibition in Russia, is held mainly by Russia Machine Tool Association with the support of Russian Industry and Trade Ministry, Russian industrialists and enterprisers together, and European Machine Tool Industry Cooperation Association. It attracts nearly thousands exhibitors and more than 50 thousand visitors all over the world every year.

II Exhibition background

In the last exhibition, there were 800 enterprises from 29 countries and regions with a total exhibiting area of 58774 sqm. The registered visitors are 55000, among of them 25540 professional traders. The exhibition also held a great quantity of conferences and forums, such as technology forum of Russia metal processing equipment, exchange conference of Russia digital control machine tools etc. More than 93% exhibitors thought that they will continue to attend it because of its good effect and speciality.

Russia, with a large area and rich mineral and oil gas resources has great demand for machinery products, ever output value of machinery manufacturing accounting for 30-35% of GDP with decisive position. The pillar industries of Russia are machinery, steel, metallurgy, cast, metal processing, energy and heavy chemical industry, the output value of metal processing and machinery manufacturing accounting for 18% of GDP to more than 55 billion dollars of annual sales. Output value of total industry will account for 25% of Russian economy if including the civil machinery manufacturing that military industry worked on. “American Machinist” reported that Russian industry will have an increasing demand for machine tool products, which is driven by rapid development of oil and natural gas, and metal processing industry including railway and chemical industry. It is estimated that Russian market will become one of the largest markets of machine tool in the world.
