Development of diamond bit used in CCSD-1

Abstract Research techniques of electroplated diamond bits used in CCSD are introduced in this paper. Rock properties of borehole and drilling conditions are analyzed. This paper lays emphasis on the design process of large diameter diamond coring bits for drilling hard rock and deep hole as well as the adoption of non-pressure infiltration method to the manufacture of bit gauge. The results indicated that electroplated diamond bit made by post forming method has good ability in bit gauge, which thoroughly change the history that electroplated diamond bit has poor radius retention ability. Electroplated diamond bit made by post forming method is an innovative kind of diamond bit.
