According to an announcement by DTC Botswana, Shrenuj Botswana has been appointed a DTC Botswana Sightholder. DTC Botswana explained that the appointment comes as a means of support for the sustainability of diamond manufacturing capacity in Botswana.



The global downturn has had a negative impact on the viability of an existing diamond cutting and polishing factory in Gaborone. Shrenuj Botswana’s intervention is expected to save up to 150 jobs, and the Shrenuj Botswana factory will continue to manufacture diamonds for the benefit of Botswana’s economy.



Shrenuj Botswana is part of the Shrenuj India Group, which has been a DTC Sightholder since 1982. The factory will be working on a range of rough diamonds suitable for Shrenuj’s international downstream requirements for the key global consumer markets.
