Jewelry Outlook reports that platinum jewelry proved to be very popular with the judges at the 2009 UK Jewelry Awards ceremony held at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London last week.



Platinum jewelry designers and retailers were presented with awards in the Independent Retailer of the Year and Multiple Retailer of the Year categories.



The winner of the Platinum Bridal Jewelry Collection of the Year award was Simon Pure Design.



Upon receiving the award, Steve Parsons said, “Winning this has come as a complete surprise to us all, especially with such tough competition. We are over the moon that our work has been recognized for this prestigious category.”



Despite the current recession, the platinum bridal jewelry market has thrived. According to several studies, couples perceive platinum as the best precious metal and regard the purchase of platinum bridal jewelry as an investment in their future.
