Moti Ganz Unanimously Elected for Second Term as Israel Diamond Institute Chairman

Yesterday, 27.7.09, Moti Ganz was unanimously elected by the Israel Diamond Institute’s (IDI) Board of Directors for a second term of office as the IDI Chairman. Moti Ganz also serves as President of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA) and of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA).
After his election, incumbent President Moti Ganz stated: “I wish to thank the members of the IDI’s Board of Directors for their faith in me. I promise to continue to act vigorously on behalf of the diamond industry.”
During his first term as IDI Chairman, and particularly in the aftermath of the outbreak of the crisis in the global diamond industry, Moti Ganz has worked tirelessly on behalf the Israeli Diamond Industry vis-a-vis government entities and the banks in order to enlist aid for the diamantaires. Moti Ganz also facilitated the establishment of the International Diamond Board which recently declared its intention to promote the generic marketing of the diamond all over the world.
In his remarks, the President of the Israel Diamond Exchange and WFDB Avi Paz praised Moti Ganz for a productive and significant first term. He added: “I am confident that the current cooperation between the various entities within the diamond industry will continue to flourish during Moti Ganz’s second term. I look forward to our joint efforts.”
Diamond Controller Shmuel Mordechai added his congratulations and best wishes upon Moti Ganz’s reelection and added: “It is important to look back at the past three years and learn from them so that the next three will be even better.”
A week prior to the elections, Moti Ganz met with the Minister of Industry Trade and Labor Binyamin Ben-Eliezer who congratulated him on a successful first term and granted his full support for a second term. He wished Moti Ganz and the entire diamond industry a productive second term.
