Silicon Price Falls Nearly 10% on Renewable Energy Metals Index

The biggest mover this week on MetalMiner’s weekly Renewables MMI� was the silicon price, with a nine percent fall.
Chinese cobalt cathodes dropped 3.5 percent over the past week, while Chinese steel plate prices fell one percent. This was the fourth week in a row of declining prices of steel plate. Following a steady week, prices for neodymium closed flat.
Japanese steel plate prices held steady from the previous week, holding above $1,000 per metric ton. Korean steel plate remained essentially flat from the previous week, and the price of Chinese steel plate fell one percent — the fourth week in a row of declining Chinese steel plate prices. The price of US steel plate fell 1.1 percent over the past week, also the fourth week in a row of declining prices.
The price of US grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) rose 1.1 percent for this month.
