According to the analysis of PV experts, American PV market increased by more than double times in the first half of 2012 and is expected to exceed Europe in the whole year. America solar energy installation has reached to 1.7 GW from Jan to June, up more than 120% compared with the 750 MW of the same period. And the first quarter report of IMS showed that the whole year installation can reach to 4.3 GW in American market.
The report also pointed that global solar energy installation has been more than 13 GW in the first half of 2012, making a new record. Among of them, Germany and America are the leading increasing market. But, America will be the largest increasing market for 2012 global solar energy installation, accounting for 40% newly increasing volume. IMS expressed that although there is good starting for Germany, European market may shrink nearly 3 GW in 2012.
Xia Erma, the PV research head of IMS expressed that we are still optimistic for the American PV market potentiality. We estimated that America will increase to 3.5 GW at least, becoming the third global largest PV market in 2012, adding that the long term expectation of American market is little, but it is worthy encouraging for the development speed this year.
It is worth mentioning that the slow growth of European may not affect the market demand of global solar energy and the increasing market in the next half year of 2012. We will possibly see the record of more than 18 GW installations in H2 with the promotion of Chinese, Japanese and American market.
The report also mentioned that the 1.7 GW Golden Sun Project approved by China must finish it by the end of this year. The electricity price policy of surfing the internet with solar energy PV that is effective On July 1, will help stimulate the market demand.
