Abstract The paper gives a thorough introduction at home and abroad of research and development of nano-diamond material, the synthetic technology, performance, index, and affecting factor. It sums up and analyzes the application of nano-diamond in the fields of lubrication, composite coating, wear-resistant composite material additive, grinding and polishing, agent for macromolecular material, electron emissions, protective coating, biological medicine, etc. Finally, it summarizes the research and production of nano-diamond in domestic.
