PASDEC auctions marble square blocks

Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) on Wednesday auctioned its first extracted marble square blocks from its first model quarry at Naal, Khuzdar (Balochistan) through open auction. Despite heavy rain and storm in the area, many stakeholders and processors of marble and granite sector participated and showed their keen interest in the auction of square blocks. This was the first ever auction in the history of the country’s marble and granite sector, held by the PASDEC.
The extracted marble square blocks were the result of the PASDEC’s efforts to transform the sector into a globally competitive industry, said a press release issued here on today. The stakeholders termed the auction as a landmark achievement. They hoped that it would prove to be a milestone in the future development of the sector and result in the growth of national economy. Chairman PASDEC, Ihsan Ullah Khan was also present on the occasion.
He congratulated the government, Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Watto Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Production, Shahab Khawaja, SWOG members and the PASDEC team whose committed endeavors helped in achieving this goal. He also thanked the participants in making the event successful and declared that next auction would be held at Gaddani in near future.
He said that the PASDEC, by the help of government has been able to extract the marble at model quarry Naal through modern quarrying practices and machinery, introduced for the first time in Pakistan by PASDEC, which would go a long way in the national development. staff report
