Jewelry News Asia will be hosting a conference on the topic of the global diamond industry in one month's time, not at any one central location, but online, broadcast simultaneously throughout the world, the news magazine reported online. The free conference, which is co-sponsored by the Israel Diamond Institute and Shree Ramkrishna Exports, will take place on November 30 and will begin at 4 in the afternoon Hong Kong time.
The speaker panel will be led by Rio Tinto chief commercial officer for diamonds Jean-Marc Lieberherr and by Kiran Gems vice-president Rajesh Lakhani. Some of the topics that will be dealt with at the conference include turning uncertain challenges to the diamond industry into opportunities, the crisis of declining diamond discovery and overall supply, and the gradual eastward shift of diamond demand.
