Sun Qin, Deputy director of National Energy Administration, recently said in Asian Energy Forum held in Guangzhou that as an important energy production and consumption country in Asia and the world, China relied on itself to ensure the energy supply all along and attached great importance to development of new and renewable energy, and it was expected to finish the new energy development planning within 2009.

During the meeting, Sun Qin said, "The Chinese government will promote both the utilization of clean energy and the upgrading of traditional energy. Scientific and technological innovation is the core means to solve the problems in China's energy supply and safety control."
