Mano River Resources Inc. announces it has been granted a Class 'A' mining license at the New Liberty gold deposit by the government of Liberia, under the Bea Mineral Development Agreement (MDA).
Mano River is a TSX-V (MNO) and AIM (MANA) exploration company that focuses on the discovery of world-class gold, diamond and iron ore deposits in the West African Mano River Union countries of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
The mining license will come into force on July 29, 2009 for a period of 25 years, after which it would be subject to renewal. Mano is planning to perform a deep drilling campaign of 8,500m – 10,000m to depths of 300m below the surface using a diamond drill. The company might drill additional holes up to 500m below the surface if necessary ahead of the campaign's completion in the end of 2009.
Mano River President & CEO Luis Da Silva stated: "The support from the Government of Liberia is evident to achieving the Company's goals and we are now in a position to undertake the confirmation drilling in advance of completing a bankable feasibility study in 2010 for an underground mine targeting 100,000oz pa.”
