The aluminum alloy industry received deliveries of 3,875 tons of silicon metal in November, up 3.3% from October, while the industry consumed 3,686 tons of the metal, down 1.5% from the preceding month. As a result, end-November stocks of silicon metal in the industry were up 6.4% to 2,990 tons.
Production of secondary aluminum alloys in November was 65,846 tons, down 1.2% from October, so the month's consumption of silicon metal declined.
The industry's production during November (66,476 tons, down 1.2% from October) was less than the shipments in November (66,850 tons, down 1.3% from October), making the month-end inventory of the alloy products 25,623 tons, lower by 1.4% from the preceding month.
