Liuzhou Steel achieves net profit of RMB 210 million in 2012

Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region based Chinese steelmaker Liuzhou Iron and Steel Co has issued its financial results for 2012 indicating primary operating revenues of CNY 50 billion and a net profit of CNY 210 million.
In 2012 the company’s coking plant produced 4.1921 million tonne of coke. Liuzhou steel stated it plans to achieve a pig iron output of 11 million tonne in 2013 while its coking plant is expected to provide all the coke required for production operations. In 2013 the steel producer’s coke output is foreseen to reach a target of 4.95 million tonne.
In the January to November period of 2012 Liuzhou Steel produced 8.23 million tonne of pig iron up 2.15% YoY Meanwhile in the given period the company produced 8.5 million tonne of crude steel and 9.67 million tonne of finished steel down 2.38% and up 1.88% respectively both YoY.
