Jewelrynetasia reports that the Rapaport Group organized a group of diamond buyers including 20 leading Chinese retail jewelers and wholesale dealers that attended India jewelry trade shows in August.
Martin Rapaport, Chairman of the Rapaport Group, noted: "We are fully committed to supporting jewelry retailers and wholesalers that wish to optimize their international sourcing opportunities. We have the global reach, local presence, international connections and experienced, dedicated staff necessary to help diamond buyers locate the best products at the best prices.”
The visit was sponsored by three leading Indian suppliers: Blue Star Diamonds, Rosy Blue and Shrenuj, and was supported by the Gem and Jewelry Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) in India. During their five-day buying mission in India, members of the Chinese diamond buyers group attended the India Diamond and Colorstone Show, the India International Jewelry Show, and visited diamond cutting and jewelry factories in India.
Following the Chinese delegates’ visit to the Blue Star Diamonds factory, company director Arnav Mehta said: “The interest shown by the Chinese delegates towards the diamond manufacturing processes and the desire to forge new suppliers and business relationships in a proactive way was impressive. This collaborative measure taken up by Rapaport is highly appreciated and truly visionary. This effort should be encouraged.”
