The reporter has known from the State Nationalities Affairs Commission that in 2008, China ethic minority area realized the total import and export amount of foreign trade of USD60.75b, up nearly 37% compared with 2007, higher than the national growth speed.

It was known that on Chinese land boundary line as long as 22,000 kilometers, there have scattered 135 land frontier counties, prefectures and cities, among which 107 are located in national autonomous areas.

Since the reform and opening-up, the State Council has successively approved 13 cities including Manzhouli prefecture of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Yining prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ruili city of Yunnan province and Pingxiang prefecture of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to be open cities along the borderlines and endowed them policy favors, and consequently the trade in border areas has developed rapidly.
