The London Police announced yesterday that they have arrested two men suspected of involvement in the giant diamond heist in the fine jewelry store Graff Diamonds, which occurred on August 6. During the robbery of the luxury jewelry store in Bond St., diamonds and jewelry worth some $65 million were stolen in one of the largest diamond and jewelry robberies in the history of Britain.
During the diamond heist, the robbers picked out 43 of the store's most expensive items of diamond jewelry and fled. Before leaving they shot a few rounds in the air to frighten the customers and employees who were in the jewelry store at the time.
Last week the British police appealed to the general public to help locate the diamond robbers. Eventually it became clear that the two robbers who were caught on the security camera of the Graff Diamonds fine jewelry store used sophisticated masks and makeup to disguise themselves. A man suspected of involvement in the diamond heist was arrested a day after the robbery, but he has since been released on bail.
