China aluminum imports down by 43pct in Jan-Apr

China Knowledge reported that China saw its imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products plunge 42.6% YoY to 248,531 tonnes in the first 4 months of this year.
According to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs, last month, the country imported 64,134 tonnes of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products with total value of USD 320.53 million.
The customs also said that China imported 750,000 tonnes of waste copper in the first four months, 4.3% less than in the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the country's aluminum oxide imports for the four-month period totalled 1.36 million tonnes reflecting a YoY decrease of 6.0%.
