According to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry, in March this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 687,050 long tonnes increasing 20% compared to the same month of the previous year and up 24.6% compared to February.

In the Q1 of 2013, the country's total iron ore production was 1.8 million long tonnes marking a rise of 24.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
