As jewelry sector and diamond industry players assemble in Las Vegas, Nevada for the latest JCK fair, attendees will have the opportunity to lay their eyes for the first time upon a new device for grading rough and polished diamonds. OGI Systems Group's CFire Visual Light Performance grading system premieres this week at the Vegas confab at booth B6664. JCK Las Vegas began this past Friday and will run till tomorrow.
OGI says that the new machine can measure any stone, regardless of its shape or whether or not it is branded, on four axes: contrast, scintillation, fire and brilliance. Among the advantages that such a system confers is that two different stones can be compared mathematically in order to more effectively convince a client of its desirability and that this information can be conveyed either live in person, in physical certificates, or electronically over the internet.
