We have heard of the powerful function of the grapheme. We can see its presence in almost every field, such as painting, environmental pollution treatment, earphone development etc. It will show its advantage in the field of photograph this time. Wang Qijie, the assistant professor of Nanyang Technological University, painstakingly developed a graphene sensor together with his research team. This sensor can test broad spectrum light. The time of catching and holding light to generate electron is much longer than most of other sensor. And the ability of capture light is 1000 times better than traditional sensor, 10 times lower energy dissipation.
It can capture more clear photos under the condition of little light with this sensor. It is worth mentioning that its price is five times cheaper than that of traditional sensor (CMOS and CCD).
Professor Wang expressed that we will remember its making practical experience forever while developing it, which means that the industry can continue to use CMOS technology in principle, producing camera sensor. But the manufacturers can use the sensor nano materials made to take place of basic material easily.
This new development sensor will have opportunity to be used in shooting, traffic speed cameras, satellite map and much other relevant equipment. The research team is committed to developing it as commercial products.
