China oil data show May crude-oil output up 3.8%

China produced 17.73 million metric tons of crude oil in May, up 3.8% from a year earlier, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
This is equivalent to 4.19 million barrels per day, according to Dow Jones Newswires' calculations.
China produced 14.28 million tons of diesel in May, down 1.6% on year, and 8.21 million tons of gasoline, up 14.7%, the data showed. Kerosene output was 2.14 million tons in May, up 19.5%.
