Indian zinc futures down on spot demand as global cues

BS reported that amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend, zinc prices traded lower by 0.55% to INR 109.05 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July month declined by 60 paise or 0.55% to INR 109.05 per kilogram in business turnover of 490 lots. Likewise, the metal for delivery in June traded lower by 55 paise or 0.51% to INR 107.70 per kilogram in 3,177 lots.
Market analysts said that besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak global trend mainly influenced zinc prices in futures trade. Meanwhile, zinc was down 0.7% at USD 1,836.25 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
