After the pollution problems of iron ore beneficiation plants, steel mills and coal yards were revealed by the media, county under Zhangjiakou city, Hebei Province shut down almost all the local beneficiation plants on June 27.

It is learnt iron ore output of Zhangjiakou city is only second to Tangshan and Chengde city in Hebei. The mining and processing of ferrous metal industry increased 30.2% YoY, according to information released by Zhangjiakou city last year. And iron ore fines, crude ore and raw coal was up 40.0%,14.8% and 17.9% respectively from the same period last year.
