Iron ore exports via Port Hedland up 29pct in June

In June of the current year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland remained almost stable compared to May and were up 29% YoY totaling 27.7 million tonnes.
According to the information released by the Port Authority, in June iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 22.95 million tonnes decreasing by 1.7% compared to May and up 42.6% compared to the same month of the previous year. Japan and South Korea followed China in June this year with 2 million tonnes and 1.7 million tonnes respectively.
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron and Fortescue Metals Group in the iron ore rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
