Alumina powder production reached 61,900 tons in the first 3 months of the current year.

During May 22-June 21, alumina powder production increased to 20,000 tons while aluminum ingot production amounted to 30,100 tons.

Iranian Aluminum Company, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Complex and Almahdi Hormozal Aluminum Corporation, Iran's three major aluminum production companies, produced 337,600 tons of aluminum ingots last year.

Last year, alumina powder production reached 228,000 tons and the figure is expected to reach 1.5 million tons by 2025, Per capita aluminum production in Iran is 4.5 kilograms, which amounts to 6.5 kilograms in the world.

Iran's global ranking in aluminum production is projected to improve from the current 22nd to 14th by the end of the Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (2015).

In June, Vajihollah Jafari, deputy minister of industries, mines and trade, said Iran's ranking in aluminum production has risen by four places since 2005 to number 22 in the world in 2012.
