Macao's fuel price rises in Q2

Along with the rebound of oil prices in the international market, the average selling price of fuels in Macao went up in the second quarter of 2009, with that of fuel oil registering a notable increase of 15.2 percent quarter-to-quarter, according to the figures released on Friday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Aside from the price of fuel oil, those of common kerosene and unleaded gasoline also increased by 12.5 percent and 11.1 percent respectively from the first quarter, the figures indicated.
In the second quarter, imports of gasoline rose by 13.5 percent over the preceding quarter to 16.9 million liters, and the average price of gasoline imports and its consumption respectively rose by13 percent and 4.7 percent.
In addition, the imports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) totaled 8,579 tons in the period, down 27 percent quarter-to-quarter. Local stock of LPG was 2,591 tons at the end of second quarter, decreasing by 22.5 percent quarter-to-quarter to account for 53.2 percent of the total storage capacity, the DSEC said.
