Indian zinc down on low spot demand as global cues

BS reported that amid low domestic demand and weak global trend, zinc prices fell by 0.63% to INR 109.80 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July declined by 70 paise or 0.63% to INR 109.80 per kilogram in business turnover of 556 lots. Likewise, the metal for delivery in August traded lower by 55 paise or 0.49% to INR 111.15 per kilogram in 103 lots.
Market analysts said that besides sluggish domestic demand in domestic spot market weak global trend after China's manufacturing weakened further in July, raised concern that slowing economic growth will hurt metals demand, mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
