BS reported that Indian zinc prices moved up by 0.36% to INR 112.35 per kilogram in futures market today largely in tandem with a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August traded higher by 40 paise or 0.36% to INR 112.35 per kilogram in business turnover of 2,502 lots. Similarly, zinc for delivery in September contracts edged up by 30 paise or 0.33% to INR 113.25 per kilogram in 139 lots.
Market analysts attributed rise in zinc prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the global markets after China's official manufacturing data unexpectedly strengthened, suggesting demand from the world's largest consumer is improving.
