As the clampdown on illegal rare earth mining operations was launched last week, most producers held prices firm despite low buying interest, leaving limited transactions for rare earth products.
Last week, prices were RMB 28,000/mt for lanthanum oxide, RMB 28,500/mt for cerium oxide, RMB 523,000/mt for praseodymium oxide, RMB 343,000/mt for neodymium oxide, RMB 351,000/mt for didymium oxide, RMB 4,800/kg for europium oxide, RMB 2,270/kg for dysprosium oxide, RMB 190,000/mt for gadolinium oxide, RMB 47,000/mt for cerium misch metal, RMB 449,000/mt for praseodymium-neodymium alloy and RMB 2,270,000/mt for dysprosium-iron alloy.
SMM anticipates that prices for rare earth products will hold steady this week on the strength of the crackdowns.
