A Namibian company is very excited about a deposit of rough diamonds it has discovered, but in order to develop the site, it is seeking Chinese expertise, Rough and Polished reports. Subramaniam Ragubathi, the owner of mineral and diamond company Nambib Resources, says that he seeks Chinese investors who could provide technical and logistical know-how and support for the firm's Toscanini concession in Namibia.
The deposit is bursting at the seams with the stones, Ragubathi alleges, calling it may be "one of the biggest deposits of diamonds in history". Ragubathi also noted that the deposit contains between 95% to 98% gem quality, calling the gems "among the best quality in the world". In numbers, Nambib says it has identified 57 millions carats of rough diamonds in just a tiny 10% of one of four leases the firm holds, intimating that the land could contain far more, according to Rough and Polished.
