China's average daily crude steel output up 1.24% in Aug from July

China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced that in August this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled 2.1381 million mt, up 1.24 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in the given month China's crude steel output totaled 66.28 million mt, up 12.8 percent year on year, while in the January-August period China's crude steel output totaled 521.84 million mt, up 7.8 percent year on year.
In the January-August period this year, China's outputs of pig iron and finished steel amounted to 480.38 million mt and 701.64 million mt, up 6.6 percent and 11.2 percent respectively, both on year-on-year basis. In August alone, the outputs of pig iron and finished steel amounted to 59.92 million mt and 91.94 million mt, up 11.1 percent and 15.6 percent respectively, both year on year.
