China to stockpile 10000 tonnes rare earths

Reuters reported that China plans soon to buy a total of 10,000 tonnes of rare earths from local producers to add to stockpiles built up by the country's State Reserves Bureau.
China is the world's top producer and exporter of rare earths which include 17 metals used in hybrid car batteries, wind turbines, energy efficient lighting and advanced electronics.
