Ogi Systems Implements Application for Re-cutting Polished Diamonds in FireTrace

Ogi Systems Ltd has announced the addition of the 3D Recut application to their FireTrace system. The FireTrace system, which calculates the maximum level of reflected light from a diamond, has been marketed for several years as part of the company's polishing software.
3D Recut allows manufacturers to re-cut only the relevant edge and not the entire gem. For instance, if the average angle on the top is 36.3 degrees, the software locates the top edge and suggests recutting only that area while calculating the minimal loss.
Moreover, 3D Recut allows diamond polishers to recut the diamond’s edges as required to upgrade the gem to EX or A&H, and together with FireTrace, it is able to achieve the maximal level of reflected light. The software is excellent for polishers who manufacture diamonds according to GIA standards.
Ogi Systems CEO Daniel Ben Jano stated that Ogi Systems was the first company in the market to develop and implement applications for recutting polished diamonds using the company's software. The company applied for a patent for this application several years ago.
