Japan's machine tool orders decreased in September from last year, owing entirely to a sharp fall in export demand, latest figures from the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association (JMTBA)showed Wednesday.
Total machine tool orders decreased 6.3 percent in September from a year earlier. Driving the fall, orders in the export market plunged 23.4 percent, which was partially offset by a 35.9 percent growth in domestic market.
Compared to August, machine tool orders in all markets increased 6.4 percent in September, the agency said.
