The Q351R, featuring a rough back film, and the Q351S, featuring a smooth back film, are used in powertrain polishing operations in automotive, truck, marine, small engine, and very-large engine manufacturing operations. The film rolls are available in extremely fine grit sizes of 80–9 micron/μ, or 180–1,000 grit of straight and scalloped edge. Because the micron size is so fine, it can be difficult to distinguish visibly one from the other, therefore a color code has been added to simplify selection.
The Norton Finium line is designed to complement the Norton lines of bonded abrasive and superabrasive products also used in the powertrain markets.
