Israel's August Tax Revenues Exceed Forecast

Globes states that Israeli Ministry of Finance Accountant General's department reported that tax revenues came to NIS 14.5 billion in August 2009. Despite the fact that this constitutes is a decline from NIS 14.9 billion in August 2008, these revenues were NIS 700 million higher than the forecasts made by the Ministry of Finance.
Between January and August 2009 tax revenues stood at NIS 117 billion compared with NIS 127 billion during the corresponding period in the previous tear. However, this amount was NIS 2.5 billion higher than the Ministry of Finance's target in the 2009 budget.
