IDI course to identify synthetic diamonds

The Indian Diamond Institute (IDI) has announced the launch of a 20-week course on 'professional diamond grading' for the young talents to identify man-made diamonds like synthetics, moissnaites and chemical vapour deposition (CVD).
During the 20-week training programme, the aspirants would be given training on diamond cutting process, grading of star and melee diamonds, big diamonds using state-of-the-art equipment, master stone set, understanding diamonds through microscope, U.V scope and also exposed to various stages of diamond grading.
Samir Joshi, executive director, IDI, said there is a need to create a pool of talent for the Indian diamond industry. The course offers a challenging career to the youngsters. Thousands of students have passed out of IDI after undergoing its courses and are now working with reputed companies.
