France-based Saint-Gobain, which has abrasives, ceramics and plastics operations in Worcester, has received the 2013 Employer of the Year Award by the New England Clean Energy Council.

The award is given to a company that has shown significant business growth combined with strong workforce growth, providing diverse, high-paying jobs. The award was presented to Saint-Gobain at NECEC's 6th annual Green Tie Gala on Nov. 14 in Boston.

More than 400 leaders and stakeholders in the clean energy industry, including company CEOs, government officials, service providers, academics, venture investment firms, labor and large commercial end-users and area utilities attended the gala.
