Mr Alexander Olesik press secretary of BMZ said that in December 2013 Belarusian Steel Works will ship 13,000 tonnes of round rolled metal products to the European Union, 3 times as much as this year’s monthly average.

Currently, BMZ is focusing on markets in Germany and Italy, with more efforts being exercised in this direction lately. In September-October BMZ specialists visited key buyers in the 2 countries.

Apart from that, BMZ took part in expos in Poland and France and held meetings with potential consumers of round rolled metal products. The number includes FIAT, Iveco, Siemens, Bosch, ZF and other companies.

Merchandise made by mill 850 of the company’s long-product rolling department constitutes the foundation of BMZ’s export to the European Union. The mill can make round bars with the diameter varying from 80 millimeter to 160mm. Round bars or round rings can be used in two industries.

The first one is mechanical engineering that uses so-called commercial grade rolled products that have to pass only minimal requirements. The second one is automobile engineering that has very high requirements regarding the quality and performance parameters.

Despite the tough requirements BMZ intends to sell more rolled metal for automobile industry. These rings will be used as a raw material to make automobile parts.

During specialized expos BMZ presented not only existing manufacturing divisions but also those under construction. With the launch of a new wire mill in December 2014 the company will be able to offer a considerably wider product range.

The new mill will be able to make rings of 20 millimeter to 80 millimete in diameter and squares with sides varying from 17 millimeter to 70 millimeter.
