The photovoltaic power generation project on rooftops of the agricultural products and byproducts logistic center in Nanjing Dongshan Business R&D Park will be connected into the grid, according to the park on Dec 18. With an investment of about 68.24 million yuan (US$11.24 million) and covering nearly 160,000 square meters, the project contains more than 26,000 battery plates, making it the largest distributed rooftop photovoltaic project in the city. The conversion rate of these equipped polycrystalline silicon battery modules reaches 14.7 percent, generating around 6,000 kWh of electricity at most within one hour. This project generates electricity by leveraging the solar energy and supply the surplus electricity to the national grid. It is estimated to generate 6.06 million kWh of electricity on average in a year.
