Iron ore miner NMDC Ltd recorded a production of 7.30 million tonne in Oct-Dec, up 37% from the same period last year on the back of favourable market conditions, the company said in a release.



The company’s iron ore despatches during the period under review stood at 7.43 million tonne, up 40% from that noted in the corresponding period last year, it said.



Sequentially, production of the ore was 23% higher in Oct-Dec, while despatches moved up 15%.



NMDC observed that the company is geared up to not only sustain the uptrend in production but also improve its performance further in 4th quarter to meet the rising demand of steel industry, the release said quoting Chairman and Managing Director C S Verma.
