In the week ending January 4th 2014, domestic raw steel production was 1,822,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 76.1%. Production was 1,812,000 net tonne in the week ending January 4th 2013, while the capability utilization then was 74.4%.

The current week production represents a 0.6% increase from the same period in the previous year. Production for the week ending January 4th 2014 is up 2.8% from the previous week ending December 28th 2013 when production was 1,733,000 net tonne and the rate of capability utilization was 74.0%.

Adjusted YTD production through January 4th 2014 was 1,822,000 net tonne, at a capability utilization rate of 76.1%. That is a 0.6% increase from the 1,812,000 net tonne during the same period last year, when the capability utilization rate was 74.4%.
