Personalized Pacifiers has come up with the perfect way for rich customers to celebrate the arrival of a newborn child - a 14 karat white gold pacifier embedded with over 278 pave cut white diamonds weighing over 3 carats.
The diamond pacifier has every characteristic of a regular pacifier, although it is not recommended for actual use. Additionally, the company provides the option of engraving the name, initials, birth date or birth weight of the newborn on the pacifier. These pacifiers can also be embedded with colorful diamonds. Each pacifier costs $17,000.
This is not the first time extremely luxurious pacifiers have hit the market. Swedish Elodie Details has been offering its customers gold and silver pacifiers for quite some time, while Swarovski sells fine crystal pacifiers for up to $300 a unit. Swarovski markets these pacifiers through Ocmamma, which sells them for $28 along with a matching strap that costs $20. Unsurprisingly, Swarowski's pacifiers are immensely popular in Hollywood, and have already been purchased by Beverly Hills, 90210 stars Tori Spelling and Jason Priestley.
