China's trade unions were ready to step up cooperation with their Japanese counterparts and promote friendship and understanding between the two countries' workers, top Chinese trade union leader Wang Zhaoguo said here Friday.
Wang, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, met here Friday with Tsuyoshi Takagi, chairman of the Japanese Trade Unions Confederation. The two pledged to strengthen trade union cooperation.
To consolidate relations between the two countries' trade unions served the fundamental interests of the two peoples, said Wang, who is also vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee.
They also exchanged views on issues concerning the global financial crisis and the Sino-Japanese relations.
Takagi will conclude the four-day visit to China on Sept. 13.
