RAPSI reported that European steel lobby Eurofer plans to file an anti dumping case with the European Commission against exports of electrical steel sheet from Russia.
Mr Gordon Moffat DG of Eurofer said that “We have two cases in an advanced stage where we suspect dumping and subsidies. One concerns Russia, the other concerns China and Taiwan. They will be filed this year.”
Russia’s main producers of electrical steel are the Novolipetsk plant and VIZ Steel of Novolipetsk Steel one of Russia’s top steelmakers. A Kommersant newspaper source assessed NLMK’s electrical steel supplies to Europe at 60,000 tonnes to 100,000 tonnes or between USD 77 million and USD 130 million a year.
